RAW MATERIAL
meat and bone meal, blood meal, fish or shrimp meal, feed yeast, protein admixtures
The weight of the components is formed according to the recipe.
Each component is ground in a hammer mill with a sieve to 2-6 mm.
The ground mass is fed into the mixer.
Moisture of mixture is controlled by water injection during mixing.
Raw material is fed into operational hopper.
Afterwards it is continuously moved to the preconditioner of the extruder E-1500.
There occurs the heating of the mixture to 60-70 °C.
Feed mixture is conveyed into compression zone of extruder. Here, at a temperature of 70-90 °C the product is plasticized.
This process takes place of benign conditions to preserve the quality of protein and vitamin supplements.
Due to the instantaneous change of pressure a uniform granule is discharged from the die. Its size depends on the diameter of the outlet openings of die and the length is defined by speed of knives.
Further processing depends on the product formulation.
It may be:
- cooling
- drying
- applying additional fat granule
- applying flavors
Ready pet food is transported for packaging and storage.
